SDH subtitling
SDH subtitling allows you to make the content of a video accessible to deaf and hard-of-hearing viewers by adopting specific protocols, such as:
- speaker identification;
- sound effects description;
- nonverbal elements description, such as intonation, the language spoken by a character and the source from which the voice comes.
In this context it would also be appropriate to tell intralinguistic and interlinguistic subtitling apart. In the former case, the subtitles for the deaf are in the original language of the video; in the latter case, in a different language.

Intralinguistic

The intralinguistic subtitling for the deaf/hard-of-hearing viewers is a process that consists in adapting dialogues and sounds in SDH subtitles and of their subsequent synchronisation with the video.

Interlinguistic
subtitling w/ template
Have you already synchronised the subtitles for the deaf in the source language and therefore you only need to have them translated?
In that case I offer you a linguistic transposition of the template, which is a subtitle file already synchronised, that respects the specific requirements of the SDH subtitles.
The timecode (in and out times of the subtitles on screen) will remain unchanged.

Interlinguistic
subtitling w/o template
Would you like to add SDH subtitles in Italian to a video in a foreign language and you do not have a template available?
No problem! I also offer a complete interlinguistic subtitling service for the deaf/hard-of-hearing viewers that consists both of the phase of subtitles creation and synchronisation, and of the translation phase.
